Upgrade, Downgrade & Refunds
How do I upgrade from Free to Growth?
You can upgrade at any time via the mazu website, web app, or mobile app. Go to Settings → Subscription → Upgrade. Choose monthly or annual billing and complete the payment.
When does the upgrade take effect?
Immediately. As soon as payment is processed, your company moves to the Growth plan and all Growth features become available.
If I upgrade, what happens to my existing data?
Nothing changes. All your existing invoices, items, customers, reports, and data remain exactly as they are. You simply gain access to additional features.
How do I downgrade from Growth to Free?
You can request a downgrade at any time. Monthly plan: Your Growth plan stays active until the end of the current billing cycle. After that, you are moved to the Free plan. No refund is issued. Annual plan: If you cancel within the first 7 days, you receive a 100% refund and are moved to Free immediately. After 7 days, no refund is issued and the plan is downgraded to Free at the end of the annual billing cycle (360 days).
What happens to my data when I downgrade?
Your data is not deleted. However, features exclusive to the Growth plan will become inaccessible. You can still view existing data created with Growth features, but you won't be able to create new entries using those features.
If I downgrade, can I upgrade again later?
Yes. You can upgrade back to Growth at any time. However, subsequent purchases, renewals, or reactivations after a downgrade are not eligible for the 7-day refund policy.
What is the refund policy for monthly plans?
No refunds are issued for monthly plans. If you cancel or stop payment, the plan remains active until the end of the current monthly billing cycle and then moves to the Free plan automatically.
What is the refund policy for annual plans?
Cancel within the first 7 days: 100% refund. Plan moves to Free. Cancel after 7 days: No refund. Plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle and then moves to Free. This applies to both recurring (autopay) and one-time payment users.
How do I receive my refund?
All refunds are credited back to the original payment method used for the purchase.
How long does a refund take to process?
Refunds are initiated immediately upon approval. The time for the refund to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider, typically 5-7 business days.
Are renewals or reactivations eligible for refunds?
No. The 7-day refund window applies only to the first purchase of an annual plan. Subsequent renewals, reactivations, or re-purchases are not eligible for refunds.
What if I just remove my payment method instead of cancelling?
If you remove your payment method or it fails, the plan continues until the end of the current billing period. After that, you are moved to the Free plan. The refund policy still applies as described above, no refund after 7 days for annual plans, no refund at all for monthly plans.
